We have a winner! John Thomas, Frederick County's Principal Planner and known bicycle enthusiast, won the Bike to Work grand prize, a Breezer i3 folding bike.
Bike to Work Day is THIS Friday. Soooooo SIGN UP, SIGN UP, SIGN UP! Lets show everyone how committed Frederick is to alternative transportation.
There is a goal to make September 22, 2008 a car free day. If at all possible please help with this goal. Ride your bike, telecommute, car pool, take a day off, quit your job, etc. What ever it takes.
Welcome to Bike Month everybody!!! This morning I was greeted with perfect temperatures and a cool breeze as I cycled to work. I want to encourage everyone to enjoy the same pleasure. This month is packed with fun stuff!
Today we held our second bike commuter clinic. Basic bike commuter tips were covered as well as winter commuting tips. Once again John Gorham (Single Speed Outlaw team member) headed up the discussion.
Well folks the winner has presented herself! Today a very excited Jennifer Eberhardt of Frederick came in to pick up the Breezer Zag8 folding bike that we raffled off to promote Bike to Work Day.
Danielle, Roger and I had a lot of fun at this past Friday’s bike to work celebration. The event attracted riders both young and old atop all sorts of bicycles. We were offering free coffee and bagels to warm up the slightly chilly riders.
It is always fun for me to talk about bicycle commuting. The benefits are many and I would encourage everyone to use a bike as basic transportation at least once. We kicked off bike month with a commuter clinic.
