Last week we supported Friends of Frederick County by donating a bike for the organization to raffle off at their booth during the Great Frederick Fair.
Do you have a bicycle you no longer use? Solution – donate it! The Knights of Columbus Bishop McNamara Council 1622, in partnership with Bikes for the World, will be collecting bicycles in relative good condition and/or easily repairable condition.
This morning I meet Pat Blair, resident of Elkridge, MD. While he was here Pat told me about a 6500 mile cross country adventure he and some buddies took on their fixed gear bicycles.
Several members of our single speed clan were lucky enough to head to Aviemore, Scotland for the 2007 Single Speed World Champs.
The other day a man on a very loaded bike stopped by the shop. For the past 16 years Thomas Beasley has been riding his bike around the United States to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis.
Well folks the winner has presented herself! Today a very excited Jennifer Eberhardt of Frederick came in to pick up the Breezer Zag8 folding bike that we raffled off to promote Bike to Work Day.
It is always fun for me to talk about bicycle commuting. The benefits are many and I would encourage everyone to use a bike as basic transportation at least once. We kicked off bike month with a commuter clinic.
