Thank You Frederick!
We did an amazing job! In just a few short weeks The Bicycle Escape, Cool Kids Campaign collected $2025 (so far) for children with cancer. That’s 135% of our $1500 goal, we appreciate all the donors! The large ride has raised many times that amount!
And we had fun doing it! On August 10th we had twelve riders, one drone, a truck with a trailer and 55 miles ahead of us with LOTS of stops in our future. Justin Berk, the meteorologist who organized the event, loves to stop and talk to anyone who might give to The Cool Kids Campaign. We stopped at a gym (donations); we stopped in Sykesville (party time and more donations); we stopped alongside the road (donations); and once just because we wanted to (yes, more donations). We even saw some friends: Emily, formerly of Bike Maryland and Logan, who used to work at The Bicycle Escape. All in all, the ride with Justin Berk was a successful day that I’ll long remember!
It’s not unusual for bicyclists to raise money for a cause, but it’s great everyone has so much fun and appreciates the cause. “Kids with cancer”. Those words should never be in the same sentence. So “thank you” to everyone who helped. Together we made a difference and we were proud to accomplish something good. Oh, and if you haven’t donated yet, there’s still time.
HUGE thanks to Siddalee Photography of Linthicum for use of their great pictures!
