The Bicycle Escape’s Cranksgiving was this past weekend and I am pleased to announce that we increased our collection from last year by 1,200 pounds! This year over 2,600 pounds of food were delivered to the Frederick Food Bank. One of our game players shared a touching story at the after party, adding a human element to the fun. One of the cashiers that she spoke with thanked her for participating in Cranksgiving, stating that she was one of the recipients of the Food Bank’s bounty and that she was currently homeless and getting “back on her feet.”
This is the reason that Cranksgiving is my favorite event of the year and why it is so very worth our efforts.
