In the Community
The Bicycle Escape is an active member of the Frederick community. Our commitment is expressed in the form of volunteer work, safety training, education and donations.

The Environment
At The Bicycle Escape it is very important to us that we leave as little negative impact on this earth as possible and we hope you are of a similar mind set. Below are a few of the steps we have taken to reduce our ecological impact.

• Reduce: In an effort to reduce that amount of packaging we consume we purchase a lot of common items in bulk. Many of our chains, brake pads, lubricants and polishes, kickstands, inner tubes, cables, and small parts are delivered to use without individual packages and hang tags. This is why some of the items you purchase lack impressive packaging.
  
  
• Reuse: A lot of the packaging we receive is reused. For example; bags, zip ties, boxes and packaging materials are given a second life when ever possible. Even the rags we use were once t-shirts.
  
  
• Recycle: As you might expect bicycles are delivered in large boxes. We have systems in place to ensure that this cardboard as well as cardboard, paper, glass, plastics, and metals are recycled.
  
  
• Emissions: At The Bicycle Escape we believe very strongly in bicycle commuting. Through personal experience we have found riding a bike as a transportation vehicle to be pleasurable, efficient, and healthful. However, we also realize that it is not always possible for us to operate our business on two wheels. To help reduce vehicular emissions the company car gets 36 miles per gallon.

Return Policy
Any non-special order, non-bicycle item may be returned within 10 days of purchase for store credit or a credit to your credit card. Customers returning purchases paid with cash may be issued a check as the register may not have the cash to cover the return. Customers returning Items purchased by check will always be issued a check after the original check has cleared.

There are no returns on bicycles.
To provide piece of mind to gift givers, bicycles in brand new condition may be exchanged for another bicycle of a different size, color, or model.

New Bike Policy
Each bike we sell comes with a free tune up within three months of purchase.  After that point, you are entitled to a lifetime of free adjustments.  This includes refinement to the gears and brakes utilizing the barrel adjustors as well as lubricating the drive train, inflating the tires, tightening nuts and bolts and checking the bike over for safety concerns.

Privacy Policy
At The Bicycle Escape we highly respect your privacy.  Your personal information is never traded or sold to others.  We have a mailing/email list that is comprised exclusively of individuals with whom we have conducted business.  If one wishes to be removed form this list for any reason we will do so in a timely manner.

We have worked very hard to maintain a positive reputation in our community. Our customers have been gracious enough to share their positive experience at The Bicycle Escape with others.
